CHARACTER DESIGN 1
For our first character design workshop we learned the basics for character design and the fundaments to creating effective characters. We were each assigned a famous character from a film, tv show or game, and had to recreate them in a different style to how they are usually presented. This involved simplifying or increasing the amount of detail within the character. In the second exercise we had to alter the characters' basic shape formation/ structure, to something which contrasted their original. The character I was given was Batman, the image I received was extremely detailed with lines and shading, there was also a lot of muscle definition and complex anatomy. Therefore in my drawing I decided to take a more simple approach, while still trying to maintain certain iconic features.
