CHARACTER DESIGN YEAR 2 - 1
Today was our first lesson of character design in Year 2. For the second part of the lesson we could work on our individual projects in which everyone was allocated their own character, I was given a puppy. To start we studied the anatomy and structure of our characters, I used circles and solid lines to understand how the puppy joints function, and how they would adjust to his movements. Then some fast facial studies, looking mainly at jaw and eyelines.
Taking two of the rough sketches I added an outline and applied more detail, following the structure as best as possible. Overall, this exercise has given me more understanding of the structure of a puppy and am confident to move onto the next stage of the design.
